On Tuesday October 25th, Lindsey Wilson College opened its doors to over 1,000 community members in the spirit of tradition and to celebrate the upcoming Halloween holiday. Safe Halloween has been a tradition at LWC for over 25 years. Each year students from all departments, classes, and organizations join together to provide Adair County’s children with a fun and safe way to enjoy Halloween.
The highlight of Safe Halloween is the dorm decorations. Every year the main campus dorms get a “Halloween Makeover,” and transform into magical kingdoms, whimsical worlds, and even a view haunted houses. These transformation comes from hours of preparation including: painting, tracing, cutting, gluing ,and much more. While the majority of work is done by LWC’s Resident Assistants, you can always find a view Bonners helping out here and there. Whether they’re an RA, a tour guide, or just love to dress up, Bonners can be found serving their community in every capacity on/leading up to Safe Halloween. Over 40 Bonners volunteered in various roles this year. Next Safe Halloween, let’s aim to have even more volunteers across the board so that we can serve even more community members from throughout Columbia and surrounding counties.
