FEBRUARY SERVICE SITE OF THE MONTH
Camp SAFARI After School Program
"Service Site[s] of the Month" are places where Bonners can be found volunteering their time day in and day out. These sites are cornerstones in the community and are a helping hand to those in need.

Adair County Elementary School is one of the oldest service sites partnered with the LWC Bonner Program. It's after-school program Camp SAFARI is a resource for children grades 3rd-5th to further their educate and participate in fun after-school activities.
​
All students who participate in Camp SAFARI have two "classes" each day. The options are as diverse as the students themselves. Below is a list of some of the classes the students are a part of:

Gym

Homework Help

Legos

Music

Sewing

And many more!

In these classes/programs students participate in activities that build social skills and relationships with their peers, teachers, and mentors. Bonner Scholars are a big part of fostering these relationships. The students looks to Bonners as role models and a source of encouragement. Camp SAFARI not only helps kids learn a skill/hobby, it teaches kids that learning is fun.
